I accepted the challenge today to write my haiku from the perspective of the opposite sex. I chose to write as if I were my husband.
Each morning it's hard
to leave behind my baby.
Got to go to work.
I leave just before
she wakes up from her slumber.
Don't get to see her.
When I get back home
I finally get to play
with my sweet daughter.
After one short hour
(okay, maybe more like two)
she heads off to bed.
But I am the one
who gets to rock her to sleep
and kiss her goodnight!

16 I thought that...:
That's very sweet. My hubby and I alternate putting the tyke down. It's good that yours is doing his bonding.
Oh my gosh...that is so sweet. That is really, really a great post. Great job.
Aw, that is very, very sweet. Wonderful haiku.
My hubs feels exactly the same way ... that's why the nightly bedtime ritual is his territory (for BOTH kids now ... so he is thoroughly EXHAUSTED lol!)
thx for your comment on my blog... and we did persevere, thank goodness!
My husband loves to rock my son to sleep when he is lucky enough to be home to do so. Dads and kids. Breaks my heart! (: Great ku, W!
That was so sweet. Great job!!!
Aw, so sweet! I really loved this. Very nice take on the theme.
That is so sweet! I work too so I don't get to see my daughter but a few hours during the weekdays. So I know how his heart must break a bit everytime he has to leave... b/c mine sure does!
Awwwwwwwwwww...
Very sweet! Now, this is quite different wit how the other haiku play with the theme! :D
That was so great! My husband does the night time routine too. It's wonderful to have that special time with Daddy.
I'm starting a fun new meme about children called "Silly Monkey Stories" on Tuesday. I hope you'll check it out and consider joining in!

So true. My husband dies a little every morning.

your haiku today shares a
view of family
I didn’t realize we HAD a ‘theme’ today … but I’ve posted haiku on each of my blogs anyway.
Hugs and blessings,
So sweet! What a good daddy.
Wow! you did a great job writing from dad's prospective. I know my hubby feels that way :)
